PLOT

When lighthouse keeper and herbalist Marta Vane uproots a storm-tossed bottle from her herb garden on Crestfall Point, she expects flotsam, not a ghost. Inside the weathered glass: a guest signature card from the Halcyon Inn, dated forty-three years ago, and a pressed flower so rare, so toxic, that Marta's hands go cold the moment she recognizes it. Monkshood. She tucks the bottle away with the intention of solving it quietly, the way she solves everything, alone, surrounded by thyme and sea-wind, with her notebooks and her silence.

Then a visitor collapses during her guided herb walk.

Now Marta must navigate a community that has long memories, longer grudges, and no shortage of reasons to keep certain histories buried. The old Halcyon Inn still stands.
